I’ve got a useful little tool for you guys today! For those of you that don’t know, we include a supply list with all of our paid products as well as most of our freebies. The supply list (located in the Supply List section below the main product image) tells you exactly how many sheets of paper you need to create the project. And we also indicate the American Crafts AC Cardstock color in the description.
This information is great if you have a swatch, but we realize that not everyone does, so we’ve put together this handy printable swatch that you can reference to help you pick out your papers. Even if you don’t have the matching American Crafts cardstock, you can find something comparable in your stash of papers by just putting your paper up to this swatch!

Thank you so much for this legend. I have looked all over for it. I love AC paper!
Leo, you keep thinking of ways to make our crafting life easier . . . supply list, paper tips . . . can’t wait to see what’s next. Thank you!
Thank you Leo! A great help to have a go to chart(s) such as these. Thank you for making the charts large enough to see the colors and names. Judy Stark
Thank you for this info. If I ever find one color packs on sale I will know what I really want.
Can you make a printable version? That would be so helpful.
Leo This is great for people who buy the paper packs, but your AC numbering system does not align with my swatch pack or with the AC Website itself.. Denim for example is 71073. These are the numbers people will need in order to buy replacement paper if they find they run out of the original colors from the packs.
Hi Mary, those are Pantone numbers, not the codes. The actual names should match with the swatch 🙂
Thank you Leo, this is fantastic and so helpful.
Hi Leo,
Thank you so much. I have been looking everywhere for this. Such a godsend as I’m trying to sort and file my cardstock by the correct name. Cheers
Leo where would you be able to purchase the swatch color books from?
I found this place recently! https://www.12x12cardstock.shop/
Thank you so much for putting these legends together for us. I have so many packs like this and now I can use these legends to know which pack the color you list for the project is contained in.
Thanks so much for this. I spent hours recently looking for this info.
only way to improve on this is to make each one of the paper pack descriptions PRINTABLE !!!!!!
thanks Leo for all the really good tips and tricks you have for us!
Anyone know what pack Cantaloupe or Shrimp are in?
looking for Boysenberry, but it seems it’s retired. Anything close to that? Thanks for the chart, Leo!
Awesome! Thanks! 😀
Have checked several times – with the exception of Christmas pack all the other packs are out of stock. That’s a little frustrating.

Take Note!
Occasionally American Crafts will discontinue our favorite colors. I know, it makes me sad too! I will keep a list here to keep you updated that you can check when placing your orders.
I have listed substitutes from Bazzill if you really need one of the colors you can’t get anymore. We don’t carry Bazzill but just a FYI for you!

I checked the links only to find many either out of stock or costing almost $300 a package!
Hi Jodi, American Crafts updated their variety packs. We’ll be updating this article to reflect the update. The items you are seeing are old, almost like collectors items, hence the price.
Hello, I can’t find the papers on the AC cardstock website for the three newest purses on your site.
Or anything similar could work too.
Thanks,
Michelle
Which colors are you not finding?
what kind of glue do you use?
Hi June. We use this: https://amzn.to/2FZtGbH
Leo, I love your svg files and videos ( and your name as it is my dad’s name too)! Can you please tell me the best weight of vellum to use when making your lanterns/luminaries? I have to order it and I want to make sure I get the right one. Thanks, Genny
Hi Genevieve, to be honest, I never really pay attention to the weight of the vellum. Since its hard enough to find vellum locally, we get whatever we can. But typically, we use #27
I just found this website while I was on Dreaming Tree today. I just ordered paper from a craft store but now that I found this website, this will be my go to place for my paper needs. Love all the choices!
I purchased your Elegant Bags file, and love them. Can you give me an idea where you find the pattern paper with foil accents? I can’t seem to find anything similar online or in my local craft stores.
Hi Patty! We just used regular gold foil paper and embossed it with embossing folders. We used tiny dots for one and a cross hatch folder on the other. Hope this helps! 🙂 ~Mike
