Customizing Fire and Dragonfly Lantern in Cricut Design Space

Modifying and customizing our SVG files in Cricut Design Space is easier than you think. In the following video, I’ll discuss the following:

  • Welding content from Cricut’s content library to an SVG file using the Weld feature
  • Ungrouping SVG files
  • Hiding and Showing layers
  • Slicing / Slice Tool
  • Arrange >>> Move to Front, Move to Back
  • Attached Sets

Note: Lantern used in video is our Fire and Dragonfly Lantern (Buy It Here)

Thank you so much! I’ve had a Silhouette Cameo and a Sizzix eClips2 for over a year, and recently added a Cricut Explore Air. I’m just learning the ins and outs of Design Space. I struggle a bit with it. I need more lessons like this!

Thank you for the tutorial Leo! I don’t have the design space software, but it looks like a good program. I ordered the eclips2 from you and it came with the ecal software. But I was wandering if any of the other softwares will work with my eclips also? I figured out how to do the welding with the ecal software. I also bought the software for my iPad but can’t figure out how to hook my iPad to the eclips?
    Please give me some advice.

Leo – I am truly inspired and can’t thank you enough for this tutorial. I own a silhouette and several circuits the most recent being Cricut Air. However, Cricut Air is still in its box! As soon as I have a couple of days to myself (FT working grandma of 5!) I am going to pull it out of the box and this will be my first project. Again, thank you so much for your thoughtful beautiful designs and tutorial.
